In the Spirit of 1924
When the Swedish Club in Reval was founded in 1924, its statutes named among their aims the support of distressed compatriots. That duty endures. Each year the proceeds of the wine auction at the Grand Ball, together with the gifts of our patrons, are donated in full to charitable causes in Tallinn and Estonia. The board reports here, year by year, the causes that have received the club's support.
Every year, the club strives to reach and assist local organisations whose work supports children and families in need. This continues a tradition exemplified by the club's contribution of €1,500 to the MAYA Initiative for Estonian orphaned and underprivileged children. Working with Estonia's culinary community, the initiative offers practical life-skills mentoring and educational opportunities to young people in residential care, helping local efforts create confidence, belonging and brighter prospects.

Every Glass, A Gift
The highlight of the Grand Ball is the charity wine auction. Fine wines donated by patrons are auctioned to the assembled guests, and every euro raised is passed on, without deduction, to the causes listed above. To pledge a bottle to the next auction, or to propose a cause for the club's support, please write to the board.
